“The Boys” is an inventive TV series that attempts to answer the question, “What would happen if superheroes truly existed in our capitalist society?” According to Eric Kripke, the creator of the show, they would be explored and monetized by significant corporations.
“The Boys” is set up in an alternative universe, and it can be a hilarious show at times despite being a clever satire of late-stage capitalism. In other words, it offers plenty of food for thought while being incredibly entertaining. A more adult alternative to the run-of-the-mill Marvel series that keep popping up, “The Boys” was renewed for a fourth season in 2023.
