Before joining the BBC, journalist, Laura Kuenssberg began her career working for local radio and cable television stations. She won a regional Royal Television Society Award due to her work as a home affairs correspondent. In 2015, she succeeded Nick Robinson and was named political editor at the BBC, becoming the first woman to do so. The Political Studies Association awarded her broadcaster of the year.
Kuenssberg maintains a very quiet private life, and her husband, James Kelly, a management consultant, is rarely in the limelight, and not much is known about him. The couple lives together in east London, and they do not have any children together.
