Legendary actress Bette Midler has been in the movie and television industry for over five decades since coming into prominence in 1970. Throughout her career, she has amassed several accolades, including four Golden Globe Awards, three Grammy Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Tony Awards.
Midler eloped with her husband, Martin von Haselberg, in 1984 to Las Vegas, where they had a wedding ceremony in which the only attendees were themselves and an Elvis Presley impersonator. She had only known her husband for six weeks! She says the key to their lasting marriage was always making a conscious effort to put their family first.
