The Quiet Life of Some of the Greatest NFL Players

Fran Tarkenton, 83, Minnesota Vikings

The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton is a well-known retired NFL player who enjoyed a lengthy 18-season career. He spent the majority of his time with the Vikings, though he did play briefly for the New York Giants. The nine-time Pro Bowler and the 1975 NFL Most Valuable Player never won the Super Bowl championship.

Upon retiring, Tarkenton was savvy enough with his money to create a financial institution named “Tarkenton Financial” to cater to small businesses in the Atlanta area. With the business, he’s been able to assist former athletes who have had significant financial and management issues after leaving active play.
