The Blue Dragon and 39 Other Bizarre Creatures That Will Blow Your Mind
Proboscis Monkey
The Proboscis monkey, more commonly known as the long-nosed monkey, is native to the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Theu spend most of their time in the coastal mangroves and swamps, only stepping on land in search of other forms of nourishment.
Though males can grow up to 50 pounds, females can only reach half that size. And an easy way to tell them apart is by the long nose, which earned it its nickname. These monkeys also rely on a mixed diet of leaves, unripe fruits, and seeds. But unlike most primates, their incredible swimming skills allow them to swim underwater for up to 20 meters.
