The much-rumored and debated BBC documentary Royal Family, which premiered in 1969, was then immediately taken back and was not shown in years to come—even decades, in fact. The Queen’s press secretary at that time later shared his story about what really happened.
The documentary was filmed over fifty years ago for a whole year with cameras following the royal family members everywhere. It aimed at presenting the royals as normal people and somewhat thin out the wall between them and the common folk. However, after the premiere, it was determined that it showed too many personal details, which could pose a potential danger for the royal family.
