30 Secrets that the Royal Family didn’t want you to know

Various Countries Celebrate The Queen’s Birthday On DIfferent Dates

Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, which makes her ninety-three years old today. However, the Queen’s official birthday is not celebrated necessarily on the same date, as the day is actually selected differently in some Commonwealth realms to celebrate the birthday of the monarch.

It has been the practice in the Kingdom of Great Britain since the year 1748 when King George II was the ruler. Since then, the date has been adopted by various countries independently, but it’s generally set around late May or early June. The reason for this is to increase the probability of coinciding with fine weather for ceremonies to be held outdoors.
