Royals Are Forbidden To Sign Autographs
The British royal family follows a longstanding protocol that decrees no member of the family is permitted to sign autographs. The protocol is in place for the fear of potential royal handwriting forgeries and other malpractices. However, in 2018, Meghan Markle found a way around that rule.
The photo above was taken in Cardiff Castle, Wales, in January 2018. It was ahead of Prince Harry and Markle’s spring nuptials, and it was her first round of official visits to places around the UK. While shaking hands and talking to kids, Meghan wrote something for one fangirl, but it was later revealed she did not sign her autograph and just wrote: “Hi Kaitlin”.
