Lisa Murkowski is a lawyer who is also involved as a politician, serving as the senior United States Senator for Alaska. She has been working in the same position since 2002 and has done a considerable amount of work with the power she has. Murkowski is often referred to as one of the most moderate Republicans in the Senate and a crucial swing vote.
She studied economics at Georgetown University in 1980, and the same year she was elected to the U.S Senate. She has also maintained a successful married life with Verne Martell since 1987. They have two children together.
