Rod And Tina Rocked SNL And Studio 54 In One Night
When Rod Stewart and Tina Turner walked into Studio 54 that October 1981 night, they had every right to party. They had just finished performing together for a Saturday Night Live episode and wowed on stage with a rendition of Stewart’s 1977 hit, Hot Legs. And according to a friend, the British singer-songwriter marveled at Turner’s stage presence.
As the story goes, he approached the Proud Mary singer after watching her sing his songs live wearing a blonde wig not far from how his own locks looked. They would go on to collaborate more throughout the years and even duet on the song, It Takes Two, in 1990.
