With a talented choreographer as a mother, the actor, singer and dancer from Houston, Texas had the best chance of becoming famous on stage. Due to a knee injury, he had to give up his second hobby, American football, and became a ballet dancer instead. And finally, he also used his talent for appearances in films, with Dirty Dancing he starred in one of the most popular dance films of all time.
