The fact that NFL players usually wear protective gear shows that the sport can be dangerous, and it’s important they stay safe. However, shoulder pads, helmets, and knee pads won’t be able to protect anyone from the dangerous scenario we see in this photo, and we can imagine that being hit in the groin by a fast-moving ball would hurt a lot.
We feel bad for this player, but these are some of the risks that come with the sport. It’s also a contributory factor to why they are paid so much; we’re sure they factor possible accidents like this into their paychecks.
