Sinise, the Oscar-nominated actor who played Lt. Dan in “Forrest Gump,” is behind the Gary Sinise Foundation. As stated on their About page, the foundation’s mission revolves around creating and supporting unique programs that entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.
In 2018, the foundation accomplished a remarkable milestone, hosting families of fallen military heroes. After a hiatus since 2019, over 1,800 family members, primarily children and their surviving parent or caregiver, gathered at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida—the Most Magical Place on Earth.
