Roy Disney And The Military
Walt Disney’s brother, Roy O. Disney, co-founder of The Walt Disney Company, played a significant role in the military during World War I. In 1917, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Seaman’s Branch Reserve member.
During his service, Roy served aboard the USS Arizona and participated in escort missions for troop transports in the Atlantic. His dedication and contributions to the war effort reflected the strong sense of patriotism shared by the Disney family. Roy was among those who answered their nation’s call during times of global conflict.
