Melissa Etheridge, the singer-songwriter, came out as a lesbian in 1993, the same year she released her breakthrough album Yes, I Am. Ever since, she has lived life on her terms, passionately fighting for gay rights. In the aftermath of her divorce from her first wife, she fell in love with her best friend Linda Wallem, eventually marrying in 2014.
It’s hard to miss the intense chemistry between Melissa and Linda, born out of mutual respect, understanding, and love. For this couple, it was all about finding someone who understands you and makes your everyday life so much more beautiful and meaningful simply with their presence.
