Despite the changing landscape and perspective of the world, the LGBTQ community is still under extreme duress. Many public members of this community are still living in secret, afraid to come out in fear of a backlash at the hands of family and friends.
But trust celebrities to come in and save the day with their high profiles and willingness to share their orientation. That’s right, if you didn’t already know, there are tons of gay and bis*xual celebrities, and many of them have come out to make it easier for the regular person to do the same. From Don Lemon to Zachary Quinto, here are some inspirational gay celebrities.
Jillian Michaels & Heidi Rhoades
Jillian Michaels gained instant fame as the no-nonsense personal trainer in The Biggest Loser. But her reach goes beyond the show, particularly with the Jillian Michaels My Fitness app, that has won various awards from both Apple and Android.
Jillian doesn’t so much identify as bi as just leave herself open to the experience of falling in love with a woman or a man. But she has had a long and fruitful relationship with yoga instructor Heidi Rhoades, which included two children and two homes. The relationship eventually ended, and in 2020 Michaels and Rhoades finally dissolved their domestic partnership.
