Lily Tomlin was so inspired by her partner Jane Wagner’s play called The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe that she put in a Tony-winning performance in the lead role of the one-woman stage show. The couple eventually married in 2013… 42 years after meeting.
In that time, Tomlin has continued to achieve success, which included a Grammy Award for her comedy recording. She also earned a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for the role in the movie Nashville. Tomlin is currently voicing Professor Frizzle’s character in The Magic School Bus Rides Again and guest-hosted an episode of the Elen DeGeneres show in January 2020.
