While both her and Johnny Galecki were starring in Roseanne, Sara Gilbert, and the eventual star of Big Bang Theory dated. This was when Gilbert discovered she was gay. Their relationship had to end, but they remained friends. They even worked together on Big Bang and returned for their roles in the Roseanne spinoff, The Conners.
Since finding out that she was gay, she’s had two major relationships: With producer Ali Adler, with whom she shares a son, and they split from in 2011. Then with former frontwoman of the band 4 Non-Blondes Linda Perry, who she married in 2014. In 2019 Gilbert filed for legal separation.
