The show may be called My 600-lb Life, but there have been some who weighed way above that. Like Joe Wexler, who weighed nearly 800 pounds at 31 years old. He was unhealthy and unemployed then, having lost his last job and unable to get a new one. His life was also on the line, and he needed Dr. Now’s help.
Wexler had to drop 140 pounds to get the surgery, and through sheer determination, he did. By the end of his episode, he had lost 200 pounds. When he returned, Wexler showed he had dropped a total of 500 pounds and had started working again in the IT sector.
