Judith Durham has many solo records to her credit, but she is best remembered for her five-year stint as the leader of The Seekers, a folk band that was one of the largest pop groups of the ’60s. The band achieved success on a global scale and sold more than 50 million records.
The Seekers were the first prominent Australian pop group to enjoy success abroad and the first to reach the top of the UK and US charts. And she received the coveted 2015 Victorian of the Year award for her contributions to music. Sadly, Durham passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 79.
