This Seemingly Innocent Photo Reveals Something Sinister Lurking In Dundas Peak, One Of Canada’s Popular Nature Spots

A Holiday Collision

On December 26, 1934, the Madera Tribune wrote about a collision in the town of Dundas. The California-based newspaper reported a speeding flier on the Canadian National Railway plowed the rear end of a tourist train brimming with passengers traveling for Christmas.

With a London-Toronto route, the train that took the beating was motionless when it was hit by the flier going 55 miles an hour. This destroyed two out of the seven coaches attached to the train. The crash left 31 unsuspecting passengers injured. That wasn’t even the worst of it.
