The Scenic Yet Treacherous Climb Up
For starters, the climb up Dundas Peak has enough dangers to make the faint-hearted turn back. There are various Dundas Valley trails leading up to it. And while they offer people the opportunity to see beautiful sights like Tew’s Falls, the nature paths also have a lot of danger in store.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority has commented on the increased number of rescues in 2016 for hikers who went off the path or fell from steeper parts of the valley. It came to a point where people would hear the sounds of a helicopter or an ambulance every couple of weeks, and they’d know it’s for someone who’s stuck or fallen somewhere.
