Paige O’Hara began her career as a Broadway actress in 1983 by starring in “Showboat” and went on to star in other plays like “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” and “Oklahoma!.” In 1995, she joined a production of “Les Miserables,” where she played the character of Fantine.
O’Hara’s most famous work came in the 1991 film, “Beauty and the Beast,” where she voiced the character of the protagonist, Belle. She reprised the part in the subsequent follow-ups, “Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas” and “Belle’s Magical World.” In 2011, she was honored by Disney by being presented with a Disney Legend Award.
