Here’s Why These Celebrities Underwent Such Massive Transformations Through The Years

Nichelle Nichols – Stroke & Dementia

Nichelle Nichols, born in 1932, is a renowned American actress/singer best known as Lieutenant Uhura on the “Star Trek” television series between 1966 and 1969. The role is one of the earliest African-American female characters on American TV not portrayed as a servant.

Before she passed in July 2022, medical documents stated that Nichols was diagnosed with “moderate progressive dementia,” accompanied by major impairment in her short-term memory and moderate impairment in her understanding of abstract concepts, sense of time, place, and immediate recall. The star also had a stroke in her Los Angeles home in 2015, which led to her right side showing minor signs of mobility loss and a bit of facial drooping face droop.
