Besides eating, the other important thing to do when exercising is breathing. That instruction seems simple enough, but it’s a typical knee-jerk reaction to hold our breath when lifting weights or running fast. Proper breathing not only helps to keep you relaxed but also aids with focus. It also helps control blood pressure, improves blood flow through the body, and prevents back injuries and hernias.
Although wearing this kind of mask doesn’t make breathing any easier, it would have been great if gyms thought about it before COVID-19 stopped the world. Maybe then they would’ve been allowed to stay open. We have to admit that it’s a bit creepy, though.
