Safety First
De la Corte wondered if the pilot was simply suffering from a breakdown due to a mental illness. Perhaps he had gone insane. But the air traffic controller immediately dismissed that idea considering that there were passengers aboard the mysterious plane.
He decided to focus on the task at hand first and make sure that the plane landed safely. De la Corte even alerted the airport’s ground units to meet the aircraft and assist the passengers on board. He would get to the bottom of things once everyone’s accounted for. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance to do so.
