Doug Savant – Melrose Place
Doug Savant got his first recurring role in a soap opera in 1986 when he played the younger Mac McKenzie on the nighttime show Knots Landing. After the recognition, he landed on a big project, Melrose Place, where he portrayed Matt Fielding, the first openly gay character on mainstream television.
Off-screen, Savant is married to his co-actor Laura Leighton from Melrose Place and is living happily with her, his four children, and a Labrador. In December 2020, he updated his social media with news about the surgery of his dog Spinee. He’s been sending love to all the fans who wished Spinee a speedy recovery.
