Brazilian soccer player Pelé is without question one of the greatest sports legends of the last century. His father was already a talented player, but he had to retire from the sport at a young age due to a serious injury. Pelé himself worked as a shoeshine boy when he was a child, and often skipped school to play with the street football team “Sete de Setembro”. His ambition undoubtedly paid off, in the 1950s to 1970s he made a name for himself as a player for the Brazilian national team and for clubs such as “FC Santos”. Today he is said to have a fortune of 86 million euros.
