The same year Kate and William had their first trip as a family of three was also the year Kate was announced to be expecting her second child. Generally speaking, royals are expected to announce their pregnancies to the public at the 12-week mark. That is to ensure that there’s no risk of a miscarriage.
However, the palace made a notable exception during Kate’s second pregnancy. The announcement came way before the 12-week mark because she had become violently ill again and missed several public engagements. But Kate is nothing if not strong. She remained resilient as she bore her pregnancy to term.
