If anyone’s career got a kickstart from cheerleading, it would be Paula Abdul’s. She loved dancing and had been doing it from a young age. She also attended Van Nuys High School, where she was on the cheerleading squad while also maintaining honors-level grades and earning a scholarship to dance camp.
Her excellent skills as a dancer and cheerleader led to her becoming one of the famed Laker Girls, which in turn got her noticed by The Jacksons. They roped her in to choreograph dance sequences, and her client base just grew, and she eventually tried singing too. Abdul will feature in a dance-themed documentary called Move.
