While she credits her grandmother as the first African-American entrepreneur she’s ever seen, it’s her cheerleading that gave her the stepping stone that led to her modeling career. She spent her entire high school career in the cheerleading squad at Deshler High School in Alabama.

She was named homecoming queen at the school, the first African-American to achieve this. She then participated in a homecoming queen pageant, which she didn’t win, but got her noticed by an agent who signed her to Wilhelmina Models. She has since modeled for big brands like Maybelline and also had roles in was part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
