Kate Bush – Age 62
Catherine “Kate” Bush dominated the UK singles charts with Wuthering Heights in 1978 at just the age of 19. She also set the record as the first female musician to top the charts with a self-written song in the UK. Bush now has 25 songs that have charted in the UK Top 40.
Bush is now 62, and while she might look different, her contributions to music remain unchanged. She’s also credited for technical innovations like fusing radio microphones with wire coat hangers to create hands-free microphones for her 1979 Tour of Life. It allowed her to perform her expressionist dance choreography while singing comfortably.
