Actress Joanne Woodward had her big break in the ’50s and became a movie star in Hollywood’s Golden Age. She grew famous for playing complex women with deep characters and became one of the first movie stars to be equally exceptional in film and television.
While she enjoyed more than six decades in the movie industry, her most revered performance was in the 1957 mystery drama “The Three Faces of Eve,” which won Woodward her first and only Oscar until her retirement in 2013. She will forever remain etched into Hollywood’s history, as Woodward became the first to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
