Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw met after he cast her in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. But while she was meant to be the love interest of Indie but she seemed to stoke something in director Spielberg since they grew pretty close during production.
This came at a time when Spielberg was renewing his romance with on again off again girlfriend and actress Amy Irving, who he actually married a year after Temple was released in 1985. But they divorced again in 1989, and the first person Spielberg looked up was Capshaw. They got married in 1991. Spielberg is directing a film version of West Side Story.
