If you were consuming media in the ’80s, you’d be well familiar with Elisabeth Shue and her string of roles as the romantic interest. She played Ali Mills in “The Karate Kid” and to her role alongside Michael J. Fox’s in “Back To The Future.”

But Shue wasn’t destined to reprise her role as the girl next door for all of eternity. She briefly broke the mold and was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in “Leaving Las Vegas.” In 2021, she stepped back into Ali Mills’ shoes for the series “Cobra Kai.”
