Bob Barker (Born in 1923 – Washington)

Bob Barker was a popular host, but he worked for the United States Navy before joining the entertainment industry. He was also able to pursue a career as a radio host, and it set him up for hosting “The Price is Right” for three decades.

He placed an end to his hosting career in the late ’00s and has made occasional appearances over the years. He used to be the Guinness World Record holder for being the longest-running host of a game show before Peter Sajak took it in 2021, who garnered nearly 20 Daytime Emmy nods for the job.

Shirley MacLaine (Born in 1934 – Virginia)

If you want to find someone who does things in moderation, then Shirley Maclain isn’t your person. She hit the ground running in 1955 in “The Trouble with Harry,” an Alfred Hitchcock film. From there, she won multiple Oscar nominations in 1958, 1960, 1963 and had a last hurrah in 1977. However, in “Terms of Endearment,” she won the precious prize in 1983.

After taking the grand prize on the screen, she also became a writer in several autobiographical novels or memoirs. She had a quiet working year in 2021, but she’s still around, as we caught her hanging out with her daughter in 2021.

Max Baer Jr. (Born in 1937 – Oakland)

Max Baer Jr. is the son of Max Baer Sr., a former heavyweight boxing champion. But unlike his dad, he took up the arts as a screenwriter, producer, director, and actor. After being typecast for the role of Jethro Bodine in the 1962 hit TV show “The Beverly Hillbillies,” he needed something else to do.

After more than 70 years in Hollywood, he is alive though not very active on screen. As of 2021, he’s reported to be the only surviving cast member of “The Beverly Hillbillies,” which, according to a 2022 Outsider article, made him experience identity issues.
