Camping Face-Palm Moments: Head-Scratching Fails in the Wild That Will Leave You Laughing

Lanterns Floating

The first thing that popped into our minds upon seeing this is lanterns. But a close look at the ground would tell us that this is a campsite, so the floating objects are actually tents. This might be another case of a poorly staked shelter or the unpreparedness of the campers.

Staking the tent correctly is important, not just during breezy days. This prevents the walls of the tents from slamming on your face in the middle of the night and keeps the entire structure standing. If you’re setting camp on a windy day, it is also best to bring paracord or guy-wires, which usually come with the set.
