Camping Face-Palm Moments: Head-Scratching Fails in the Wild That Will Leave You Laughing

Organic Corndogs for You

The Parent of the Year award goes to this person who told the kids that corndogs grow, and to make it more believable; they added mustard to it! To be fair, most people don’t know the real name of this plant, so they are oftentimes referred to as hotdogs or corndogs.

These are cattails, which grow in creeks, ponds, lakes, and swamps, usually sprouting in summer. The good news is that they are edible, but that doesn’t mean you should grab one and gobble down immediately. Note that these grow in an environment with different organisms, so you need to be careful about harvesting them.
