A little charring, especially when cooking in the woods, elevates the taste of the meal. However, the dish in the picture is far from having a smokey flavor because, plain as day, this is burned probably because it was left for too long. Unfortunately, this isn’t edible or salvageable even when the top layer is scraped off.

Campfire foods are highly anticipated, and there are ways to prevent this from happening again. Aluminum foil is your friend as it can line the cookware. Never cook directly above flames because this can result in unevenly cooked or burned meals.
