Paul Loughran – Butch Dingle, Emmerdale
Known by various monikers, including being the only ginger in the village and being the big softy in the Dingle Family. Paul Loughran expertly played Butch Dingle in all his quirky craziness during his tenure on Emmerdale. He wasn’t the brightest person but was much loved, and it was a sad time when they killed off his character.
Things didn’t end for Loughran, though, and he continued to work on soaps such as Heartbeat. Then in 2016, it was announced that he was cast as Daryl Perkin in Coronation Street. His last role was in a 2017 episode of the series Casualty playing a character named Michael McKern.
