Ben Kingsley – Ron Jenkins, Coronation Street
Fans will probably remember Ben Kingsley for his participation in Shutter Island, Schindler’s List, Iron Man, and Gandhi. But before he became a household name, he first played Ron Jenkins in the soap opera Coronation Street. From 1966 to 1967, he was known for being the partner of Val, Ken Barlow’s wife.
Kingsley is one of the few who broke out of his soap opera typecast and has enjoyed a lucrative career in Hollywood. At 77, the Academy Award-winner has yet to hit pause on his time in the limelight as he has a lineup of projects in 2021 and the coming years, including The Way of the Wind.
