Barbara Knox – Rita Tanner, Coronation Street
Career longevity is not guaranteed in the entertainment industry at all, but Barbara Knox’s career proves that it is attainable. Making her Coronation Street debut in 1964 as an aspiring singer and newsstand co-owner, Rita Tanner played her for decades, starring in over 3,000 episodes and specials.
