Benedict Cumberbatch As Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate
Benedict Cumberbatch showed his talent as an actor once more when he portrayed Julian Assange, the mastermind behind the Wikileaks phenomenon, in the movie The Fifth Estate. The movie was based mainly on two different books. In a letter from Julian to Benedict, Assange claims that most of what it said was untrue and that it was a vendetta against him and his organization. Despite Julian’s rejection of the production, the movie was shot and released to mixed reviews. What all critics agreed on was Cumberbatch’s great performance. Benedict achieved worldwide fame for starring in the show Sherlock and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as Doctor Strange.
