Clint Eastwood As Frank Morris In Escape From Alcatraz
Escape from Alcatraz dramatized the tale of 1962 prison break which had also been documented in a 1963 non-fiction book by J. Campbell Bruce. Actor Clint Eastwood played the lead role portraying Frank Morris who dared to escape the maximum security facility on the Alcatraz Island.
A robbery arrest landed Morris at the Louisiana State Penitentiary where he first escaped. A year later, he ended up behind prison bars for burglary and that was how he found himself in Alcatraz. Morris orchestrated the escape alongside brothers Clarence and John Anglin, and Allen West.
