Although memorable, the fact that it depicted actress Joan Crawford allegedly inflicting abuse on her adoptive daughter Christina made the whole thing quite scandalous. However, things did not turn out as she had expected. Christina, who was deeply involved in the process alongside her husband, was not happy with the result. The project was based on the bestselling books written by her and was turned into a film. However, many remember Dunaway for this role, although it ended up being one of her least favorite performances.
