Sean Penn had already won an Oscar for his role in Mystic River, but after his portrayal of politician Harvey Milk in the movie Milk, a second award was on his way. It all started when Penn accepted to play the charismatic Milk, very contrary to Sean’s more taciturn personality.
Penn would watch videos and a documentary that was made about Milk’s life and try to soak everything up. Milk was killed by Dan White, who was led court but tried to be convicted for manslaughter instead of murder. His newest movie was The Professor and The Madman, which was released in May 2019.
