Another marvel from Dronestagram, this photo was awarded second place in 2018’s photo contest of the community. Captured by Zekedrone (photographer’s community username), it shows a fishing net being thrown by a Vietnamese fisherman. Though it’s a pretty usual sight, the angle at which the drone captured the shot makes the flurry of the net look like polar lights.
Fishing is one of the major industries in Vietnam, especially the striped catfish trade. It has provided employment to over 5 lakh fishermen since 2003. The Pangasius Catfish, called Basa locally, is the most common fish that recreational fishermen can find in Vietnam.
