Glenn Close As Gutless
Glenn Close played the role of the pirate named Gutless in the 1991 movie Hook. The project required many pirate characters to match its storyline, and that’s where Close came in. Although it wasn’t a lead role, the makeup artists had an enormous task to complete to get the intended look and feel.
In Close’s case, they had to transform a woman into a male character. This process is known as gender blending. After appearing in Hook, Close played the title character in a movie called Albert Nobbs in 2011, and guess what, it too was a gender blended character.
