In the controversial but popular show A Handmaid’s Tale, no one meets a more dismal fate than Janine Ofwarren. She loses an eye early in the show and eventually loses her mind, getting caught between what she knew for the previous world and being brainwashed for the current one.
For actress Madeline Brewer, who also had roles in Orange Is The New Black and Hemlock Grove, this role was her strongest one yet. This was thanks to her portrayal of the mentally challenged character and also the transformation she makes from exotic beauty to one-eyed loon. Brewer will reprise this role in the upcoming fourth season of the series.
