But she really gained fame when she played real-life serial killer Aileen Wournos in the biographical film Monster.
Theron was praised for her performance and won an Oscar for Best Actress. Most of the acclaim for the role was leveled at her delivery of the character, and her transformation from the bright-eyed beauty, to the female street escort. For the role, she gained 30-pounds, shaved her eyebrows, and wore false teeth. She will be reprising her role as Cipher in F9.
